I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults and young adults on a wide range of issues and offering both short and long term therapy.
I draw on a range of experience and counselling approaches, depending on what best meets your needs. I offer a safe, trauma informed, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and I work together with you to gain insights and understanding that can lead to finding new ways forward.
About me and my practice
As a professional I receive regular supervision and adhere to a strict code of ethics.
I take regular cpd trainings to keep myself relevant and up to date with new insights in the therapeutic world.
My qualification is a diploma in person-centred counselling and psychotherapy with distinction and my additional experience and training is not limited to but includes Brainspotting, personal development, somatic work, emotional release work and an understanding of IFS.
The process of counselling involves you discussing what may sometimes be very private and sensitive topics. I know that it can sometimes take great courage to share your inner world with me and I want you to feel safe in our working together. I focus on building our therapeutic relationship; meeting you with honesty and respect and supporting you to navigate any difficult stages of your life that may be presenting. Together we decide what it is that you would like to focus on and this may change as we progress.
I offer a non-judgemental, confidential therapeutic space and work in adherence to the BACP Code of Ethics. I have been supporting and working with people for many years and I work face-to-face or on-line over Zoom/Skype/Face-time etc.
Experience
My experience over the years includes working with a very diverse range of issues both in private practise, for clients receiving therapy as part of their work terms and conditions and also for various charities supporting victims of abuse, unpaid carers and people dealing with substance abuse.
Some of the issues that I have worked with include trauma, depression and anxiety, bereavement, work challenges, health challenges, self esteem, challenges arising from neurodiversity and stress.
